Roger A. Hess, D.D.S., M.B.A., M.P.A.
Dr. Hess attended both college and dental school at Emory University where he earned a bachelor of sciences degree in both biology and psychology and a doctor of dental surgery degree. Dr. Hess simultaneously earned a master of business administration at Emory, where he piloted and completed the nation’s first joint dental/business graduate program. While in dental school, he displayed an early interest and talent in the field of Periodontics, and he gained further clinical experience by working in the private practice of the dean of Emory’s School of Dentistry.
Following dental school, Dr. Hess completed his specialty training in the field of Periodontics at the Ohio State University, where he received exhaustive training and did extensive clinical research in the field of Periodontics. While earning his graduate certificate in Periodontics in this three-year program, he also earned a master of public administration. Dr. Hess has been in private practice in Periodontics since 1988 and is a co-owner of Periodontal Associates. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry. He has served as the President of the Ohio Academy of Periodontists; the President of the Cleveland Society of Periodontists, and the Scientific Chairman of the Cleveland chapter of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity.
Dr. Hess is committed to continuing education. He is the founder and charter member of the Chagrin Valley Study Club and is a frequent lecturer. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Cleveland Dental Society, American Academy of Periodontology, Ohio Academy of Periodonrists, Cleveland Society of Periodontists, International Congress of Oral implantologists, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Chagrin Valley Study Club, International Alpha Omega Fraternity, and the Pierre Fauchard International Honor Society.
Known by his patients for his dedication and gentle touch, Dr. Hess enjoys helping each patient attain the highest level of periodontal health. He is committed to making his patients comfortable and having an open, communicative relationship.
Dr. Hess lives in an eastern suburb of Cleveland with his wife, Karen, and their three children. He is actively involved in the community and in youth sports’ programs, and he enjoys tennis, scuba-diving, and reading in his free time.
