Roger A. Hess, D.D.S., M.B.A., M.P.A.
Dr. Roger Hess is a specialist in periodontics with expertise in implantology and has been a partner with Periodontal Associates over 25 years. Additionally, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Hess has been president of the Greater Cleveland Dental Society, the Cleveland Society of Periodontists and the Ohio Academy of Periodontists as well as Treasurer of the Ohio Dental Association. Dr. Hess has also served for many years as an executive board member and the editor for the Ohio Academy of Periodontists.
Also, Dr. Hess is an active member of the Ohio Dental Association and has served as a delegate to the American Dental Association. He has also served on and chaired numerous committees for the Greater Cleveland Dental Society. He is also a member of the Northeast Ohio Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, International Alpha Omega Fraternity, and the Pierre Fauchard International Honor Society. Dr. Hess was was awarded fellowship in the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Hess is on the Board of Directors at Medworks and serves as Dental Director helping to organize dental clinic events which provide free dental care to the under served. He also has served on the Advisory Board in the Division of Hygiene at Lakeland Community College and for the Cleveland Institute of Dental and Medical Assistants. Dr. Hess has published papers in the field of periodontal medicine and lectures throughout Ohio including the Ohio Dental Association’s annual meeting. More recently, he has reviewed scientific papers submitted for publication in The Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Hess is also the 2015 recipient of the Dr. Ervin P Mason Distinguished Service Award from the Greater Cleveland Dental Society. He was also honored with the Marvin Fisk Humanitarian Award by the Ohio Dental Association in 2017. Dr. Hess is the 2022 recipient of the Free Clinic Dentist of the Year awarded by the Ohio Department of Health. Recently, he wrote a featured article in the Cleveland Jewish News regarding the importance of collaborative efforts of dentists with the Greater Cleveland Dental Society and our local community.
Dr. Hess attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in biology and psychology as well as his dental degree and master’s in business administration. He completed his residency at the Ohio State University, specializing in periodontics, where he also earned a master’s degree in public administration.
